Highland, CA — Assemblyman James Ramos today announced his campaign for re-election, reaffirming his commitment to the residents of Assembly District 45 and highlighting a record of results on public safety, economic development, homelessness, and support for veterans and families.
Since taking office, Ramos has prioritized public safety by working closely with law enforcement, firefighters, and emergency responders to strengthen emergency response, support first responders, and protect neighborhoods from violent crime.
“Public safety is foundational to strong communities,” said Ramos. “I remain committed to ensuring our first responders have the tools and support they need to keep our neighborhoods safe.”
Ramos has also focused on supporting veterans and their families, including championing legislation to exempt military retirement pay from state income tax. Addressing homelessness has been another central priority, with Ramos advancing solutions centered on housing stability, behavioral health services, and collaboration with local governments and community organizations.
In addition, Ramos has been a strong advocate for labor, workforce development, and small businesses. He has supported infrastructure investments that create good-paying union jobs, protecting prevailing wage standards, and reducing barriers for small businesses—helping to strengthen the regional economy and promote long-term growth.
“These issues are interconnected,” Ramos said. “By supporting public safety, veterans, labor, small businesses, and by addressing homelessness, we can build stronger, safer communities across the Inland Empire.”
With deep roots in the Inland Empire, Ramos brings a local perspective to Sacramento and serves as an independent voice focused on practical solutions to everyday challenges facing families and small businesses.
His re-election campaign will continue to emphasize public safety, economic growth, and improving the quality of life throughout the region.
“I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished,” Ramos added. “But there’s more work ahead, and I’m running to keep fighting for safe communities, good jobs, and a stronger Inland Empire.”
